About us

Situated in West Auckland Dancebeat is THE place for all ages to learn to dance.

Dancebeat is run by Melissa Ariss (AISTD Ballet and Jazz, ANZAMD Jazz, Solo Seal BBO Tap), a Te Atatu local who is one of Auckland's top dancers / choreographers. Melissa started dancing at 4 years old and at 17 moved to London, England, to study full time as a dancer at Laine Theatre Arts. She completed a 3 year musical theatre course graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre and teaching qualifications in all forms of dance (Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz and Tap).

Melissa then worked as a dancer around the world in shows and on board Royal Caribbean cruise ships. Melissa continues to work as a dancer now. She works for TV3 and performs at major events across New Zealand. She was a Warriors cheerleader and a NZ Breaker girl.

In addition to her professional dance career, Melissa has ten years teaching experience and students of hers have gone on to dance professionally and win major awards. She is looking forward to another exciting year with Dancebeat!
